The members of Local Union 225 congratulate two great members for earning their 50-year pins!
Brother Joseph E. Willis (shown on left) started work with GM at the Lakewood Plant back in the 1960s. After a couple of layoffs, he decided to join Carpenters Local Union #225 and became a journeyman carpenter. Brother Willis is responsible for high-end trim work in most of the malls around Atlanta. One of his favorite projects was Bell South Tower in Midtown Atlanta. “If you want a job done right the first time, demand a Union Carpenter,” said Brother Willis.
Brother James Rice (shown on the right) is a second-generation UBC member who has worked on many large projects in Atlanta over his working life. Most of those projects required commuting 2 hours, one way, everyday. Brother Rice is proud to see his son carry the UBC shield as a third-generation UBC member!
