Two Legends Retire

Reflection on Retirement

In our lives we all go through several phases and growth. I am proud to say that becoming a millwright with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners was one of the best decisions in my life. Being a millwright has allowed me to raise three fantastic children and send all of them to college. As a millwright I have met several amazing friends and coworkers. These friendships that have forged throughout the years will be unbreakable. I am very proud of all my accomplishments as a millwright but my proudest moment in the Brotherhood, comes from being the Director of Training and Education. Being the Director of Training and Education has given me the opportunity to ensure that we provide high quality members.

As I think of retirement I think of my grandchildren and the time and memories I will be able to share with them. I look forward to coaching my grandson’s baseball and basketball team. The UBC will always hold a special place in my heart and I hope that my contributions will carry out well after my retirement.
