Full-Time Carpenter Instructor Needed in Florence Alabama

Notice of Opening of Employment Opportunity for Full-Time Carpenter Training Instructor

 

The Mid-South Carpenters Regional Council Training Trust Fund is considering hiring a full-time Carpenter Instructor to deliver Carpenter/Interior Systems craft training for apprentices and journeymen at the North Alabama Carpenters and Millwrights Training Center, 4300 Helton Drive, Florence, AL 35630.

 

Some travel will be required to our other facilities in the MSCRCTTF jurisdictional area to assist the other staff when needed and also to the UBC International Training Center to obtain necessary instructor training.

 

The starting salary for this position shall be approximately $39.73based on a 40-hour work week, 52 weeks per year, with incentives and raises to come within 6 months based on performance. A substantial benefit package, along with paid holidays, vacation, and sick days, is also included.

 

If selected, the applicant must be able to assume the position as early as April 15th. All resumes must be received by 4:30 p.m. (Eastern time) on April 5, 2024.

The basic requirements for the position are as follows:


- Minimum of 5 continuous years of experience in the craft as a journeyman

- Good standing status on union dues, plus minimal arrears and no suspensions

- Reside within a reasonable commute to the North Alabama Carpenters and Millwrights Training Center, 4300 Helton Drive, Florence, and within the jurisdiction of the Mid-South Carpenters Regional Council Training Trust Fund

- Extensive working knowledge of the craft

- Working knowledge of basic computer software (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

- Good communication skills and a professional attitude

- Valid driver’s license with no felony records

 

Although not required, other factors that may be considered are:


- Candidate served a carpenter apprenticeship in an approved registered apprentice program

- Bi-lingual

- Previous experience in craft instruction

- “Train the Trainer” qualifications from the UBC International Training Center

- Employer references

- Individual craft training history
