Full-Time Millwright Instructor Needed in Memphis

Notice of Employment Opportunity for Full-Time Millwright Training Instructor

The Mid-South Carpenters Regional Council Training Trust Fund (MSCRCTTF) is considering hiring a full-time millwright instructor to deliver millwright craft training for apprentices and journeymen at the West Tennessee Training Center in Memphis.

There will be some travel to our other facilities in the MSCRCTTF jurisdictional area to assist the other staff at times of need. The salary for this position shall be approximately $40.12, based on a 40-hour work week, 52 weeks per year, with incentives and raises to come within six months, based on performance. A substantial benefit package and paid holidays, vacation, and sick days are also included.

If selected, the applicant must be able to assume the position as early as August 5, 2024. All resumes must be received by 4:30 p.m. EST on July 26, 2024. Interviews will be held on July 31, 2024, at the West Tennessee Training Center, 5071 Wilfong Road, Memphis, TN 38134.

The basic requirements for the position are as follows:

  • Minimum of five continuous years of experience in the craft as a journeyman
  • "Good Standing" status on union dues
  • Reside within a reasonable commute of the Memphis Training Center and in the area served by the MSCRCTTF
  • Extensive working knowledge of the craft
  • Working knowledge of basic computer software (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Good communication skills
  • Professional attitude
  • Valid driver’s license
  • No felony records


Although not required, other factors that may be considered are:


  • Candidate served a millwright apprenticeship in an approved registered apprentice program
  • Bi-lingual
  • Previous experience in craft instruction
  • “Train the Trainer” qualifications from the UBC International Training Center
  • Employer references
  • Individual craft training history
