Georgia's Allatoona High Schoolers Get a Close Look at Being a Union Craftsperson

Cobb County’s Allatoona High School students got a closer look at a career as a union carpenter at the School’s Career Day. Atlanta Training Coordinator Anthony Valdez and Atlanta Carpenter Instructor Cruz Mejia spent their time talking with students and helping them use a Shaper Origin Router, which is a handheld computer numerical control (CNC) machine. A CNC routing is a manufacturing method that automates the control, movement and precision of machine tools through the use of preprogrammed computer software, which is embedded inside the tools. Thanks, Anthony and Cruz, for spreading the message about a solid career choice!
