Oakridge Brother Earns 50-Year Pin

Congratulations to Brother Doug Holman for earning his 50-year pin as a member of the UBC and Local 50 out of Oakridge, Tennessee! Doug not only turns in outstanding work on a consistent basis, but he is well known for his expertise in scaffolding.

Doug played a key role in helping the Carpenters International Training Fund create the scaffold Train-the-Trainer program. He was at the forefront of establishing scaffold regulations for the whole nation by working with scaffolding experts from OSHA and several universities to establish the material. He also serves as a court witness for scaffolding accidents. Back home in Oakridge, Doug applied his knowledge as an instructor and was the first member to earn full-time training coordinator status for Local 50.

He is shown here, on the left, accepting his 50-year pin from Local 50 president Preston Whitehead. Congratulations, Doug!
