Savannah Shines at Harris-Walz Rally

More than 10,000 packed the Savannah arena to the rafters to see Kamala Harris and Tim Walls. Included in that crowd were representatives of the Southeastern Carpenters Regional Council: Political Director Brett Hulme, Sisters-in-the-Brotherhood Director Je Ann Will, and Local 1263 Business Manager and Council Trustee Robert Strickland.

Here's a recap of the event from the Savannah Morning News: https://www.savannahnow.com/picture-gallery/news/politics/2024/08/29/a-look-inside-vice-president-kamala-harris-rally-begins-in-savannah/75000714007/

Fun Fact: Did you know that SECRC members built that arena! The City of Savannah started work on a $61 million arena by using only non-union workers in September 2019. Two months later, The Local 256-supported Mayoral candidate won and within 90 days, the first Local 256 member began working on the arena. Soon, 103 more Local 256 members joined the project, and six new contractors became signatory to the UBC.
