U.S. Senator Warnock Gets Close-Up View of Union Carpenter Training and Meets with Labor Leaders in Savannah

It was a great day in Savannah recently when U.S. Senator Rev. Raphael Warnock visited the Southeastern Carpenters Local 256 Education Center!

The Senator completed a tour led by Local 256 Business Manager Raymond McCullough, Council Political Director Brett Hulme and Council Representative Mark Imbrigiotta (shown in the photo, left to right). He also spoke with apprentices such as Irene Lopez-Jimenez and Romaine Axon and learned about the broad scope of work union carpenters perform throughout the region. He noticed and spoke positively about the cross-section of diversity represented in the Savannah apprenticeship program.

After the tour, the Senator met with the Savannah Regional Central Labor Council in a roundtable discussion at the Local 256 Union Hall. Rev. Warnock talked with 17 union labor leaders and promised to address their concerns, suggestions, and comments.

This is the second consecutive year that a local union from the Southeastern Carpenters Regional Council has hosted a union labor roundtable with Senator Warnock, with last year’s event being held at Augusta Carpenters Local 283.
